they keep the ad very general in scope, discuss the benefits of Ramsey and not what sites are
available. He indicated $5,000 is not a lot to spend.
Chairperson Steffen wondered when the sites will be shovel ready.
Mr. Gromberg stated they will set up a schedule to see how this will work now that it has been
approved. He thought it could be done by this fall but would work with City staff on an
acceptable time line.
Member Williams thought this is a great idea but wondered if staff asked CBRE because she
thought that was a part of what they were to provide the City.
Economic Dev. Mgr/Assistant City Administrator Brama stated this specific advertisement has
not been discussed but there has been general discussion regarding advertising. Mgr/Assistant City Administrator Brama presented the staff report.
Motion by Member Skaff, seconded by Member Hardin, to recommend to City Council to
approve the Right of First Refusal Agreement to Purchase Real Estate; subject to review and
amendments by the City Attorney.
Further Discussion: Member Riley did not think this was the EDA's idea and suggested waiting
to see what would happen. Economic Dev. Mgr/Assistant City Administrator Brama stated this
is an initiative staff brought forward but it fit in generally with what was discussed by the EDA
in May. He stated this protects the EDA and allows them the first right to purchase the property
in the next six months. Member Williams stated this also clearly communicates to the listing
agent and the individual purchaser that the City has other thoughts on this matter. Member Riley
stated he will not vote in favor of this because he does not want to vote in favor of something he
does not want the City to own.
Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Steffen, Members Skaff, Hardin, and Williams.
Voting No: Riley. Absent: Members Brunt and Burandt.
5.
