Member Riley stated whatever this does to help the City sell land he is in favor of and thought <br />this was a step in the right direction. <br />Member Riley stated they are now looking at certifying one private property and wondered if <br />this needed to be discussed further to see if there are some costs that the private property owner <br />could pay. <br />Economic Dev. Mgr/Assistant City Administrator Brama stated this could be a discussed with <br />the private property owner. <br />Chairperson Steffen asked if they will do the certifications individually or all together. <br />Mr. Gromberg stated they could split the certifications up into two different sections but it would <br />cost more because they would need to send an engineering crew to the City two different times. <br />The City would save money if they did all of the properties at once because then they would only <br />need to send up engineers once to cover all of it. <br />The Board discussed the Hageman property and how it should be handled for the certification. <br />Motion by Member Skaff, seconded by Member Williams, to recommend the City Council <br />authorize the work order with WSB & Associates, not to exceed $86,661; subject to final review <br />and amendments by the City Attorney. <br />Further discussion: Member Riley asked to include in the motion something regarding the <br />Hageman property. Member Skaff added to the motion to have staff work with Hageman <br />Properties on discussing cost share for certification of their property. Member Williams <br />seconded the addition. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Steffen, Members Skaff, Williams, Hardin, and Riley. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Members Brunt and Burandt. <br />4.02: State of Minnesota Economic Development Marketing Initiative <br />Economic Dev. Mgr/Assistant City Administrator Brama presented the staff report. <br />Chairperson Steffen asked if they advertised in this magazine before and if there were plans to <br />advertise the City's available land. <br />Economic Dev. Mgr/Assistant City Administrator Brama stated they have not. <br />Member Hardin asked when the certifications would be ready. <br />Mr. Gromberg stated he did not know the exact schedule when the certifications would be <br />available. He suggested in the ad that they put a disclaimer stating "shovel ready sites available" <br />and when the sites become available they can change the link in the magazine.
