'

Erosion and sediment control recommendation for 15855 Juniper Ridge Drive
Ramsey,

Upon your request and that of John Stine, DNR Area Hydrologist, our staff
made an initial site evaluation on September 15, 1987 and has developed the following
erosion and sediment control recommendations. If you have any question about imple-
mentation please call our office. I have coordinated the following plan with John
Stine, he also will have additional recommendations within his variance.permit.

River Bank Erosion Area

A. Deposition in river (approximately 30' x 35' in size)
1.) Removal; (please see DNR variance certification specs on method and
amounts).
2.) Spoil removed should be used to fill in lower river bank eroded
area. This material should be adequately compacted to avoid sloughing.
B. Upon receipt of 'building permit from City'of Ramsey a stairway may be
constructed from top of river bank to bottom of bank. This will facili-
tate the construction process as well as provide a stable walk area and
eliminate unnecessary foot traffic which would result in further bank
erosion.
C. The entire eroded gully areas of the bank should be filled from bottom
up (with spoi~ from river) and filled in by pushing fill over top of
bank. Area of fill should be sufficiently compacted.
D. Four inches of topsoil should be applied in two stages over entire filled
area. First stage: 2" spread and incorporated into existing sand soil.
Second stage: 2" of top soil spread. Sufficient fertilizer should be
lightly raked in.
E. Entire disturbed area can be revegetated by either sodding.and staking
in (several stakes on each roll should be used to sufficiently hold
rolls in place) or by seeding, mulching, ne>ting and staking; see appendix
A for specs.

AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
,~155C
