PC CASE <br /> <br />AUTHORIZE APPOINTMENT OF PAID ON-CALL FIREFIGHTERS <br /> <br />By: Givonna Reed, Human Resources Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Due to understaffing, staff began a recruitment process to hire eight additional paid on-call fire <br />fighters. Fire Fighter information sessions were held March 18th and March 20th, 2004. <br />h~terviews were conducted May 19, 2004. Candidates were interviewed by a panel consisting of <br />the Fire Chief, both Assistant Fire Chiefs, a Lieutenant and the Human Resources Manager. <br />Candidates took the physical agility test the first week in June. <br /> <br />At this time staff is recommending that membership with the Ramsey Fire Department be offered <br />to the following candidates pending a satisfactory pre-employment physical and drug screen: <br /> Bradley Jorgensen <br /> Michelle Dvorak <br /> Brett Eenhuis <br /> Kim Suchy <br /> Andrew Dubois <br /> Chad Mulheron <br /> Derek Dodds <br /> Jeff Erickson <br /> <br />The candidates listed above will begin employment with the City July 14, 2004 pending City <br />Council approval. <br /> <br />Staff Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff is recommending Bradley Jorgensen, Michelle Dvorak, Brett Eenhuis, Kim Suchy, Andrew <br />Dubois, Chad Mulheron, Derek Dodds and Jeff Erickson be appointed to paid, on-call fire fighter <br />positions contingent upon satisfactory physical examinations and drug screens. The candidates <br />will begin employment July 14, 2004. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br />Motion to recommend that City Council authorize the appointments of Bradley Jorgensen, <br />Michelle Dvorak, Brett Eenhuis, Kim Suchy, Andrew Dubois, Chad Mulheron, Derek Dodds and <br />Jeff Erickson to the positions of paid, on-call fire fighters on the schedule proposed above and <br />contingent upon satisfactory physical examinations and drug screens. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br />Fire Chief <br />PC: June 22, 2004 <br /> <br />-12§- <br /> <br /> <br />
