CR ~6 is an e~.wt-west ~nor arterial road IlLnni~ from CR 56 just north of the Gatewmy North Industrial Airport to TH 47 in Anoka, east of th~ study Thurston Avenue is outside of the study area, located in Anoka, almost one- half mile east of the study area bounty. It is worthy of _w~ntion because it is of significance to t_he highway plan r~red for the study area. Thurston Avenue has a grnde-sepal-ated crossing of the Burlir~n Northern Railroad and gives direct connection to TH 10. ~]~{ 47 iS a regional highway outside of the study area but is of considerable significance to the highway system. It is located in Anoka and runs in a north-south d~icn just west of the Rum River. It connects with TH 10 and more significantly further sou~du, continues as TH 169 with a crossing of the Mississippi R/vet. This road is severely constrm~ in Anoka. A significant portion of its length is in a narrc~ right-of-way and has only two lanes. It also b~$ an at-grade crossing of the Burlington Northern Railroad. Seve.~ road improvements, eithmr cc~m,~tt~ or proposed, are of significance to the study area. Principal of these are: Additional Rum River crossir~: ~h~ City of Anoka has proposed an ~-~tw-~ extension of CR !16 to cross the Rum River. ~hu~ton Avenue Ext~usion: Anoka has planned an ex~nsion of %hurston Avenue to connect with Dysprosium Street N.W. at Ir~ Avenue N.W. (CR ZZ6).
