Mayor Strommen stated that perhaps this is a critical point where the City needs to have a more
formal presentation regarding some of this information because it can be confusing and that is
why she suggested that a representative from BWSR come to speak to the Council.
Councilmember Riley stated that staff toured the City looking at corridors and asked when an
update would be provided on that.
Community Development Director Gladhill stated that staff is working to compile a list of the
information discussed. He noted that additional discussion will occur at the next worksession
regarding the stakeholder group and meetings.
4. MAYOR / COUNCIL / STAFF INPUT
Councilmember LeTourneau stated that he will be asking a question regarding maintenance and
upkeep of bridges, specifically the Armstrong overpass, regarding landscaping and ongoing
maintenance.
Public Works Superintendent Riemer stated that the responsibilities are shared between MnDOT
whom handles the off and on ramps, the County that handles Armstrong Boulevard, and the City
takes over from there. He stated that he has spoken with MnDOT regarding the length of the
grass.
City Administrator Ulrich stated that the City's expectations for maintenance are higher than the
County and MnDOT and explained that if the City wants the standard to be higher they would
need to step up and add those duties to the City.
Public Works Superintendent Riemer stated that he wants to ensure that MnDOT completes the
first mowing to ensure that the City does not overstep and therefore become responsible should
erosion issues arise.
5.
