Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> RESOLUTION #16-08-151 <br /> RESOLUTION ADOPTING FINDINGS OF FACT #0965 RELATING TO A REQUEST <br /> FROM JASON AND SUSAN NORDQUIST FOR A VARIANCE TO CONSTRUCT A <br /> DETACHED ACCESSORY BUILDING THAT EXCEEDS ESTABLISHED HEIGHT <br /> REQUIREMENTS. <br /> WHEREAS, Jason and Susan Nordquist, hereinafter referred to as "Applicants," have <br /> properly applied for a variance from Sections 117-349 (Accessory Uses and Structures) of the <br /> Ramsey City Code to construct a detached accessory building with a peak height of twenty-two <br /> (22) feet on the property generally known as 8855 176th Avenue NW and legally described as <br /> follows: <br /> Lot 1, Block 1, Countryside Estates. <br /> (the"Subject Property"). <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY,ANOKA COUNTY,STATE OF MINNESOTA that the findings of fact <br /> relating to the request are determined to be as follows: <br /> 1. That the Applicant submitted an application for a variance on July 29, 2016. <br /> 2. That the Applicant appeared before the Planning Commission for a public hearing pursuant <br /> to Section 117-53 of the Ramsey City Code on September 1, 2016 and that said public <br /> hearing was properly advertised, and that the minutes of said public hearing are hereby <br /> incorporated as a part of these findings by reference. <br /> 3. That the Subject Property is zoned R-1 Residential (Rural Developing) and is surrounded <br /> by properties also zoned R-1 Residential (Rural Developing). <br /> 4. That the Subject Property is approximately 1.45 acres in size. <br /> 5. That the height of the principal structure on the Subject Property is twenty(20) feet. <br /> 6. That Section 117-349 (Accessory Uses and Structures) (d) (5) b. of City Code establishes <br /> a maximum accessory structure building height of sixteen (16) feet measured at the mean <br /> gable height. <br /> 7. That the Applicant is requesting a variance to Section 117-349 (Accessory Uses and <br /> Structures) (d) (5) b. of City Code to allow for construction of a detached accessory <br /> structure with a peak height of twenty-two (22) feet and a mean gable height of eighteen <br /> (18) feet. <br />
