Raatikka reported that a screen and gravel pack were installed in Well
t2 an~ it is continuing to produce sand.

Mm. Hartley stated that he and Hr. Raatikka have discussed the matter with
Mm. Rennet and the consensus is that the City should renove the screen and
gravel pack and accept the well at whatever rate it will produce sandfree
water; that is estimated to be 300- 350 gallons per minute. ~at procedure
would be consistent with past recommendations from Mr. Rennet regarding
this City developing shallow, smaller wells rather than that of a larger
variety. Shallow we/is tend to produce a better quality of water and the
low performance rate does not take away from that quality. It is not
uncommon for amnmunities to run shall(~ wells regularly with water being
stored in a t(~er. The d~ange order to remove the screen and gravel pack
would be for $6,580.00.

Mm. Paatikka noted that the screen and gravel pack could be stored at
Renner's and any potential buyers for it would he referred to the City.

Motion by Council_me~ber Pearson and seconded by Councilmember DeLuca to
approve Change Order No. 4 in the amount of $6,580.00 for Municipal Well #2
to r~move sand and gravel pack, install air develolmment equipment and
install and remove test lXmp.

Motion carried.
