The Ramsey Planning and Zonirg Commission conducted a public hearing on <br />Tuesday, March 3,1987 at the Pamsey Municipal Center, 15153 No, then Blvd. <br />N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota regarding n&G Rehhein, Inc. 's request for a <br />conditional use permit to grade and excavate to create a man-made lake in <br />Northfork P.U.D. <br /> <br />Ms~bers Present: <br /> <br />Mr. ~oy Sh~way <br />Mr. Ben ~=mer <br />Mr. Gerald Zim~e~ <br />Mr. Charles LaDue <br />Mr. Terry ~endrtksen <br />Mr. Jim Howell <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Co~mmnity Development Director Anne Norris <br /> <br />Chaiman Peterson called the public hearing to order at 7:33 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Gerald Pehbetn was present and stated that they were proposing to create <br />the lake in the western portion of the P.U.D. The development needs a <br />watershed holding pond for store drainage and the owners of the P.U.D. <br />would rather construct a lake to allow for better homes and a higher tax <br />base for the community. By creating the lake, the developers are hoping <br />that this will create an attraction for homes on the west side of the <br />development. It will take several years to construct the lake and the lake <br />will be 20-25 feet in depth. Tae lake will be stocked with fish and will <br />be large enoch for fishing but won't be large enough for motor boats. <br />The developers are proposing to include a swimming beach for Northfork <br />residents. ~ahbein is proposing to create 40 acres of surface area on the <br />lake and will excavate between 40-45 feet of dirt and the lake will be 20- <br />25 feet above the water table. <br /> <br />Steve Wrench - 16470 Fortmann Circle - Requested if there is a master plan <br />for the develou~ent and that this was the first the residents have heard of <br />actual plans for a lake. ~e would like more plans and more information. <br /> <br />Mr. Rehbetn - Beplted that there has been a master plan for the development <br />in the sales office since the opening of the FJD. <br /> <br />Steve Wrench - Inquired as to the amount of traffic created and time to <br />construct the lake. <br /> <br />Mr. Behbein - Beplied that they would use State Aid roads; there would be <br />no traffic on Jarvis Street; and it would take 3-5 years to construct the <br /> P&Z Public ~earing/March 3, 1987 <br /> <br />Page 1 of 3 <br /> <br /> <br />
