Counc/lmember Cox introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br />.doption: <br /> <br />RES C[;JTION #85-225 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, River's Bend Properties has platted the Oxbow Addition consisting <br />of t~o lots; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ramsey Center Partnership has dedicated to the City of Ramsey and <br />County of Anoka approximately 60 acres to be used for public purposes including <br />the proposed extension of County Road 116 crossing the Rum River; <br /> <br /> h~F~3LEAS, a major portion of the land dedicated to the City of Ramsey lies <br />within the floodway; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey has approved development of ball fields and <br />tennis courts on a portion of the dedicated land located in the floodway; <br /> <br /> W73_EREAS, River's Bend Properties has sold Lot 2, Block 1 of the Oxbow <br />Addition to M & S Development for the construction of the Churchill Estates <br />Apartment project; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has reviewed the <br />proposed apartment complex and has approved the project contingent upon the <br />City Council adopting a resolution affirming that the floodway property <br />dedicated by Ramsey Center Partnership to the City will remain in public <br />c~nership and public use. <br /> <br />NOW ~HEREFORE, BE IT RESCLVED BY 5HE CITY COUNCIL OF ~E CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA <br />COUNTY, S~I~TE CF MINNESOTa, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1. ~hat the City affirms that the floodway property dedicated by Ramsey <br />Center Partnership to the City will remain in public ownership and public use. <br /> <br /> 2. ~hat City Staff is directed to send a col~y of this resolution to the <br />DNR Region VI office prior to the issuance of final building permits for the <br />project. <br /> <br />5he motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilm~r Sorteberg and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted <br />in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Councilmembers Cox, Reimann, Schl~eter and Sorteberg <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following was absent: <br /> <br />Mayor Heitman <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey <br />City Council this the 26th day of November, 1985. <br /> <br /> <br />
