SHORELINE ZONING <br /> <br />On all lakes, rivers and streams, which are large enough for recreational <br />use (boating, swimming, fishing, etc.), consideration should be given <br />to the following: <br /> <br />1. Preservation of all, or of a portion of,-shoreland in its <br /> natural state. <br /> <br />2. Provision for public access in a manner not conflicting with <br /> careful use of privately owned shoreland. <br /> <br />To require a building set back a certain distance from a <br />shoreline, to minimize visual distractions away from the <br />natural state and to maximize safety and patrol of these <br />areas. <br /> <br />4. To control shoreline cluttering of unsightly garbage, shacks <br /> or docks. <br /> <br />In addition, a flood plain zoning ordinance should be adopted for <br />all water bodies and other areas subject to water runoff. This will <br />enable outdoor space to be preserved for storm drainage and for aesthetic <br />and recreational purposes. Also, it will aid in avoiding property <br />damage and prevent some soil erosion. <br /> <br />-8- <br /> <br /> <br />
