The Cx~missicm requested that staff obtain information <br />regarding screening and landscaping for the next meeting. <br /> <br />The C(mmdssion reviewed the draft development permit for Plants and Things and <br />compared it to the original draft. The Commission questioned whether Mr. <br />Hickman could sign such a permit if he does not own the property. The <br />Cc~mission also commented that accesses from County Road 57 should be more <br />clearly defined and designated. <br /> <br />The Commissi~ rec~m~ that Mr. ~ickman be required to meet the standards <br />of the City and building codes regarding site plan/certificate of survey, <br />parking areas that are graded and have a durable, dust-free surface, the <br />exterior finish of the accessory structure along County Road 57 and loading <br />areas. <br /> <br />City Administrator Hartley commented on the informational meeting on the <br />extension of sewer and water to the industrial area: most property owners do <br />not want utilities at this time; property owners want to know all the costs <br />before proceeding any further; and property owners would-like some marketing <br />assistance in selling their property. <br /> <br />Chaiman Peterson noted that he was advised that the Planning Cc~mission may be <br />able to approach the Charter Commission with a petition requesting that the <br />Planning Cxmm~ssi~ beoome an elected body. Tne Commission requested the City <br />Attorney to research this and have an opinion available at the next meeting. <br /> <br />C(m~issi~r ~endriksen noted his concern regarding smoking by Commissioners <br />and the public in "no ~noking" areas and public meetings. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner ~endriksen and seconded by Commissioner Deemer to <br />adjourn the special meeting of the Planning and Zoning Ccmm~ssion. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Chairman Peterson, Commissioners Hendriksen, <br />Deemer, Zimmerman and Shumway. Voting no: None.
