Police Chief Way replied the intoxilizer solution is provided by the state and nothing <br />else needs to be purchased other than mouthpieces, which are only at a cost of 19 cents each. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case//2) Introduce Ordinance Amending Chapter 3 and Repealing and Replacing <br />Section 3.40 Entitled "City Funds" <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig explained this ordinance would amend Chapter 3 to establish the Park <br />Maintenance Fund. The consensus of the Committee was that there are still a lot of questions <br />regarding the Park Maintenance Fund overlapping with the Public Improvement Revolving Fund, <br />and to move the discussion to a worksession for more scrutiny. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked if this topic has been discussed by the Park Board. <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund responded in the negative. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec directed staff to put this discussion on the agenda of the joint meeting with the <br />City Council and the Park Board. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired about the Committee's discussion regarding this. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig explained there were some questions about the possibility of the funds fbr <br />the Park Maintenance Fund running out as growth runs out. There was discussion about having <br />more latitude in moving the funds back and forth between the Park Maintenance Fund and the <br />Public hnprovement Revolving Fund. <br /> <br />Case//4: Warning Siren Replacement <br /> <br />Police Chief Way reported the Police Department released requests for proposals for the <br />replacement of six and the relocation of one outdoor warning siren. Staff received proposals <br />from two vendors: Federal Warning Systems, Inc, in the amount of $84,059.25, and American <br />Signal Corporation in the amount of $81,128.70. Staff evaluated each proposal and found that <br />the lowest bidder, American Signal Corporation will provide the installation of six new sirens, <br />including relocation of one unit. Also included in the proposal is the removal of the existing <br />equipment at the lowest cost to the City. Installation and service will be provided by Electric <br />Systems of Anoka, which is a local vendor. Terry Lane of Electric Systems of Anoka is present <br />tonight.
