Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Council requested that City ~ngineer resuk~it this case to Council in <br />February of 1984 for the purpose of scheduling a public hearing. <br /> <br />b) Authorizatio~ Of Final Payment To Contractor For Beaud~. ~ Second Addition - <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka stated that he has reviewed the project and the <br />overlays are in bad shape and he will be meeting with Hard[rives this <br />week. Mr. Raatikka recommended that Council approve a partial payment to <br />Hardrives and retaining $5000 for repairs; City also holds a maintenance <br />bond for a period of one year. <br /> <br />Fred VanKrevelen - 6941 152nd Ave. N.W. - Stated that the road is a <br />disaster and the City really got hurt in this deal. Hardrives has patched <br />and tried to channel drainage better but every day new problems arise on <br />that street. <br /> <br />Councilmember P~imann statedthat he has reviewed the area and it looks <br />like to contractor used cold mix for patching; there are pockets which <br />are collecting sand and the drainage is bad. <br /> <br />Councilmember Schlueter stated that she has viewed the area on three <br />occasions and agreed that there is drainage problems and that the area <br />was never properly cleaned up after project completion. <br /> <br />Councilmember Van Wagner pointed out that after project completion, <br />property owners did some personal landscaping which is being ruined by <br />contractor returning to the area to make repairs. <br /> <br />Mr. Raatikka replied that damage to landscaping of property owners must <br />be repaired by the contractor and if any residents have a problem in this <br />area they should contact City Engineer. <br /> <br />Residents of the area feel that % of the payment to Hard[rives should be <br />retained by the City. Mr. Van Krevelen pointed out that there are <br />problems as far back as County Road #56. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Reimann <br />to table the decision to approve final payment for Beaudry Second Addition <br />until the regular Council meeting scheduled for November 22, 1983, at <br />which time City Engineer will report back to Council regarding Hardrives <br />intentions as far as repairs or that all repairs have been corrected. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mayor Gamec stated that any residents of this area <br />having problems should contact City Hall or City Engineer. Councilmember <br />Schlueter requested comments from the audience regarding the motion. <br />Audience was in agreement with the motion. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
