Council requested that City ~ngineer resuk~it this case to Council in February of 1984 for the purpose of scheduling a public hearing. b) Authorizatio~ Of Final Payment To Contractor For Beaud~. ~ Second Addition - City Engineer Raatikka stated that he has reviewed the project and the overlays are in bad shape and he will be meeting with Hard[rives this week. Mr. Raatikka recommended that Council approve a partial payment to Hardrives and retaining $5000 for repairs; City also holds a maintenance bond for a period of one year. Fred VanKrevelen - 6941 152nd Ave. N.W. - Stated that the road is a disaster and the City really got hurt in this deal. Hardrives has patched and tried to channel drainage better but every day new problems arise on that street. Councilmember P~imann statedthat he has reviewed the area and it looks like to contractor used cold mix for patching; there are pockets which are collecting sand and the drainage is bad. Councilmember Schlueter stated that she has viewed the area on three occasions and agreed that there is drainage problems and that the area was never properly cleaned up after project completion. Councilmember Van Wagner pointed out that after project completion, property owners did some personal landscaping which is being ruined by contractor returning to the area to make repairs. Mr. Raatikka replied that damage to landscaping of property owners must be repaired by the contractor and if any residents have a problem in this area they should contact City Engineer. Residents of the area feel that % of the payment to Hard[rives should be retained by the City. Mr. Van Krevelen pointed out that there are problems as far back as County Road #56. Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to table the decision to approve final payment for Beaudry Second Addition until the regular Council meeting scheduled for November 22, 1983, at which time City Engineer will report back to Council regarding Hardrives intentions as far as repairs or that all repairs have been corrected. Further Discussion: Mayor Gamec stated that any residents of this area having problems should contact City Hall or City Engineer. Councilmember Schlueter requested comments from the audience regarding the motion. Audience was in agreement with the motion. Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Reimann, Schlueter and Van Wagner.
