LETTERS AND COFP~UNICATIONS The Commission noted the following: 1) Letter from Mr. Peter Raatikka to Mr. Tom Oothoudt of North Star Drilling. 2) Minutes from May 25, 1984 Quad Cities Recreational Board Meeting held at J.R.'s Restaurant - 6:30 p.m. PARK CO_~iMISSION BUSINESS Case #1: Continue Discussion On Central Park: Chairman Donovan stated that Mr~ Sorteberg contacted him regarding the residents of 161st requesting that a buffer of trees be planted along 161st between the residents and Central Park. Chairman Donovan stated that he has discussed the possibility of transplanting Pine seedlings along 161st to complete the tree line with Mr. Mevisson and ~-~r. Mevisson feels that the seedlings are to young to survive transplanting, Commissioner Johnson volunteered to Councilmember Reimann and nurseries in order to obtain some recommendations on types of trees that should be planted and some cost estimates. PARK COMMISSION INPUT Commissioner Hetland ~eferred to the Raudio park property that Mr. Cox is developing and inquired if Mr. Cox has the right to do anything he wants to with City property. Chairman Donovan stated that the development of that park was supposed to be done in close communication with the Ramsey Park Department. Discussion ensued regarding how much free hand the private sector should have with public property. Chairman Donovan referred to White Pines park that is being included in the proposed golf course and stated that he would contact City Attorney Goodrich regarding a firm agreement be drawn up assuring that the course will be available for public use.
