deve!op~ent park. "River's Bend Park.".

Motior, carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Oonovan, Commissioneros
Johnson, Hetland, Lokker, Lichter and Rustad. Voting No: None.

Motion by Commissioner Hetland and seconded by Commissioner
Rustad requesting that City Council accept the donation of a park
sign for River's Bend Park fro~ the developer of River's Bend
housing project and that said sign will to the standards as
presented in drawings by Mr. Cox this evening.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Donovan, Com~issioners
Johnson, Hetland, Lokker, Lichter and Rustad. Voting No: None.

Chairman Donovan referred to grant applications and stated that
he has not given up on the idea that we as a City should have the
right to determine where we want to develop our parks; we did
apply for grants for Central Park and the latest response is that
Ramsey is not being recommended because Central Park is outside
the urban area; the deadline for applications being submitted has
past for this year but we can submit applications for both parks
next year. Chairman Donovan stated that hopefully, Ann Norris,
the newly hired City Pla~ner can be of some assisstance in
applying a~d obtaining grant monies.

Mr. Cox stated that in as much as Ramsey's Central Park is going
to be re, coted, maybe there is a possibility of diverting our
request from Central Park to River's Bend Park and obtaining some
of those grant monies yet this year.

Chairman Donovan requested that Ms. Beyer meet with Ann Norris on
Monday, September 84, 1984; bring her up to date on the park and
grant application situation in Ramsey and request that she
attempt to have Ramsey's application diverted to River's Bend
Park.

Chairman Donovan added that the Park Board still feels that the
main thrust of development should be at Central Park.

Mr. Cox stated that he understands and does not want to take
anything away from Central Park. He also noted that he is not in
favor of grant programs, but the program is in affect and Ramsey
is entitled to some of the dollars and maybe we can get them
through our River's Bend Park.

Chairman Donovan suggested that a creative play area be planned
for River's Bend Park since it is adjacent to a higher density
housing area.

Mr. Cox expressed a need for help and input from anybody
regarding development of River's Bend Park.

Cox aisc, noted t,~ ~- Norris has been invited to the
~eetir, g r,.~.xt Tuesday ~orning at McGregor's.

Page. 3 of 4

I
