P&R CASE: #I <br /> <br />REVIEW METHODS TO EDUCATE PUBLIC ON TOBACCO FREE PARKS POLICY <br /> By: Leonard Linton, Civil Engineer <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission reviewed the Tobacco Free Parks materials at a previous <br />meeting and recommended adoption of a Tobacco Free Park Policy by the City Council. <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council adopted the policy on May 25, 2004, The policy will not be enforced <br />by the policel Staff recently met with representatives from Youth First and Anoka County <br />Community Health to discuss options for implementing the policy. <br /> <br />Rachel Hilyar, Anoka County Community Health and Environmental Services requested an <br />opportunity to meet with the Park and Recreation commission to talk about community based <br />implementation of the policy. She is in attendance tonight and to make a short presentation and <br />answer questions. <br /> <br />The City has received signs to post in the parks.
