Civil Engineer II Lfl~ton explained Elm Crest Park bids will come in next Friday and a <br />recommendation will be prepared for the City Council, Chairperson Johns asked what the <br />timeframe for construction on this park is. Mr. Olson stated it is still projected to start this year. <br />He explained what was accounted for in the bid. <br /> <br />Mr. Olson stated they have an item on the Public Works meeting for the purchase of trail <br />easements north of River Pines on 157th that would get them continuous access along 47 to Elm <br />Crest Park and there is one directly south of 157th to get them to the school. <br /> <br />Note: Comprehensive Trail Plan <br /> <br />Civil Engineer II Linton showed the Commission a trail map and explained what they have been <br />working on. He stated they are thirty percent done with the process. <br /> <br />Chairperson Johns asked what the timeline wouJd, be to. finish this. Parks/Utilities Supervisor <br />Riverblood stated they would anticipate within the next couple of week they will get the mapping <br />done and they anticipate as soon as July to get this on the Council's work session docket. <br /> <br />Commission Olds asked what the status of Traprock Park was. Parks/Utilities Supervisor <br />Riverblood stated all of the debris has been relocated with the exception of some contaminated <br />dirt that is contaminated by sticks and twigs. He stated they have made a berm on the east side <br />that will aid in reducing vehicular trespassing in the park in the future. They will not be planting <br />this and will only be mowing this. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec wanted to thank the Commission for adopting the policy of "No Smoking" in <br />public parks.
