These plastic sleeved, container grown seedlings were distributed free to residents
at the tree sale and Green Business Expo; at the Pet Vaccination Clinic at Central Park; at the
Municipal Center during the week between Arbor Day (April 28) and Clean-Up Day (May 5), and
to walk-in residents and applicants for Clean-Up Day permits; at the Regional Landfill on Clean-
Up Day; and 500 trees to the Community School for distribution at Ramsey Elementary School.
Cross of Hope Church distributed 300 additional trees to their parishioners for Earth Day.

This year, four local businesses participated at the Green Business Expo and seven educational
displays with handouts were set up in the Municipal Center. Green Valley Greenhouse brought
bedding plants and flower baskets; Wirz Nursery had nice potted evergreens; Bruce Bachler sold
home-made maple syrup from trees tapped in Ramsey; and the Anoka Food Co-op had snacks and
beverages with Paul Couture, Board Member. Last year, there were no educational displays and
only one local business participated in the Green Business Exposition.

The Anoka County Soil and Water Conservation District brought a slide show on erosion and
control. The Anoka County Extension Office was represented by Jeanette Monear (Oak Wilt
Coordinator) and Molly Danielson (Horticultural Specialist), who are also "Master Gardeners".

The Anoka Area Gardeners staffed an information table.
