Notion by Counctlnember <br />Resolut tom: <br /> <br />to introduce the <br /> <br />following <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 84- <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council has received a proposed contract <br />for the sale of the City's interest in the existing landfill <br />site and eighty (80) acres immediately South and adjacent <br />thereto, which property is legally described as follows: <br /> <br />The South one-half (S 1/2) of the Southeast one- <br />quarter (SE 1/4) of Section 22, Township 32, <br />Range 25, Anoka County, Minnesota, <br /> <br />AND <br /> <br />The North one-half (N 1/2) of the Northeast <br />one-quarter (NE 1/4) of Section 27, Township 32, <br />Range 25, Anoka County, Minnesota; <br /> <br />and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council has held several executive <br />sessions to discuss this subject in conjunction with the Ramsey <br />vs. Anoka landfill suit; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council has reviewed numerous drafts of a <br />proposed contract, which contract has been discussed and <br />negotiated by the City's mayor and city attorney pursuant to <br />Council direction; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Council finds that its retention of an <br />interest in the above-described property is not necessary for the <br />City's purposes and that to sell the City's interest is in the <br />City's best interests; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the contract addresses the issue of liability <br />relating to the existing landfill and provides for <br />indemnification for the City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the consideration as described in the contract <br />for the sale of the City's interest appears adequate; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, by the execution of this contract the City does <br />not commit itself to the placing of an additional landfill site <br />in the City. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of <br />the City of Ramsey, as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />
