EXISTING AND PROPOSED REGIONAL PARKS I"~'1
]N THE CRITICAL AREA

Most of Anoka and Champlin are fully developed along the Mississippi River

with little municipally owned land along the river. The publicly owned lands

along the river in Anoka include a boat landing at the mouth of the Rum River and~

the sewage treatment plant. In Champlin, the publicly owned lands include parks

at the mouths of Elm Creek and Ox Bow Creek, the park in the Mississippi Shores

Subdivision and several rights-of-way which abut the river. In addition to

these facilities, the Coon Rapids Dam Regional Park located, in Brooklyn Park

and Coon Rapids, is presently being developed as a multi-purpose recreational

facility.
