LETTER FROM DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE, STATE <br /> <br />CASE {10: <br /> <br />OF MINNESOTA; B. INDUSTRIAL REVENUE BONDS; C. STATE GRANTS): <br /> <br />The following is hereby submitted on this case: <br /> <br /> a) Letter from Department of Revenue, State of Minnesota - Enclosure (D3-i) <br />contains a letter from the Revenue Department stating the amount of dollars <br />our State aid will be increased in 1984. Further, our revenue base will be increased <br />which is extremely important to us in future funding. <br /> <br />Council Action: No action is required, but it should be noted that Council has <br />received a copy of the State's letter. <br /> <br /> b) Industrial revenue bonds - Enclosure (D3-j) contains a copy of a report <br />we are submitting to the State of Minnesota. Further, it contains letters from <br />Faegre and Benson regarding IRB's. <br /> <br />Council Action: Your action is to just note that you have reviewed the report <br />that we are submitting to the State of Minnesota. <br /> <br /> c) State grants - Enclosure (D3-k) contains a copy of the law that was passed <br />during the 1984 Legislative Session which provides for six million dollars in grant <br />funds. I will go over this with Council at the meeting. <br /> <br />Council Action: Your action will be to note that you have reviewed this legislative <br />action. <br /> <br />COUNCIL PERSONNEL COMMrrrEE: <br /> <br />The following is hereby submitted on this case: <br /> <br /> a) Authorization to utilize an outside plan check service - With an <br />ever-changing code and a problem of granting variances, the Personnel Committee, <br />at the request of the Building Official, has recommended the use of an outside <br />plan check service on commercial and industrial buildings where the Building <br />Official feels the use of such a service would be in the best interest of the City. <br />The cost for said service would be funded by the plan check fee which is charged <br />as a part of the building permit fee. Please refer to enclosure B-6 of this <br />agenda for Council Personnel Committee meeting minutes dated May Z, 1984. <br /> <br /> <br />
