The following proposed <br />motion is hereby submitted for your consideration: <br /> <br />Motion by and seconded by to authorize the Building <br />Official to use an outside plan check service for commercial and industrial <br />buildings where he feels an outside plan check would be in the best interest <br />of the City. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes <br /> <br />· Voting no <br /> <br /> b) Request for increase in various permit fees - The Personnel Committee, <br />at a meeting held Wednesday, May Z, 1984, reviewed the existing building <br />permit fees. In order to bring said fees in line with surrounding communities <br />and attempt to make the building department more self-sustaining, they have <br />recommended the following changes: <br /> <br />1) Building permits - Building permit fees shall be calculated using the fee <br /> schedule as proposed in the 198Z UBC with plan check fees as follows: <br /> <br /> a) Commercial/industrial/multiple dwellings - 63% of the permit fee <br /> b) Single family residential - $30.00 - ,~-'-~--- -: : ~' <br />  c) Pools/garages/sheds, etc. - no plan check fee <br />,. · Z) Plumbing permits - Plumbing permits shall be calculated as follows: <br /> <br /> a) Water piping - $10.00 <br /> b) All fixtures - $5.00 per fixture <br /> c) No plan check fee <br /> <br /> ) Sewer permits shall be $50.00 <br /> <br />4) Heating permits shall be $Z5.00 <br /> <br />All permits would also be charged the appropriate surcharge as well as SAC <br />charges and park fees where applicable. <br /> <br />For ease in administering, a resolution establishing the above rates would be appropriate. <br /> <br /> Co~mcil Action: Your action will be to consider changing the various permit <br /> fees for the City. It was <br /> pointed out that we would do this on with a contract which would eliminate fringe <br /> costs. The need for this has been present for some time, but now the situation <br /> is getting worse as we develop more special projects which appears to be an <br /> ongoing situation. <br /> <br /> <br />
