Commissioner Troy asked about the warranty on the product. Mr. Greenwald stated Surface Pro <br />does not usually use Armor Crack but they included it in their quote and would be willing to use <br />it for this project. Commissioner Troy asked if total replacement costs were obtained and Mr. <br />Greenwald stated one bid was received at $130,000. <br />Chair Bennett mentioned some of the causes of court cracking being water standing, etc. Mr. <br />Riverblood explained how the resurfacing would be done. <br />Mr. Roger Schutte, Coon Rapids, stated he is a frequent user of the courts and his group plays <br />there Tuesday and Thursday mornings. He stated some of the cracking may be due to the <br />irrigation system. There has been a gradual deterioration of the courts over the years. He is happy <br />with what the Commission is planning for the courts. Commissioner Troy asked Mr. Schutte if <br />he felt the posts and nets needed to be replaced and Mr. Schutte stated if the posts could be re - <br />anchored that would be great. Chair Bennett asked if the posts and nets were researched. Mr. <br />Riverblood stated City Staff looked at the sprinkler heads. Commissioner Troy asked if there was <br />value in removing snow from the court in the winter months and Mr. Riverblood stated that it <br />would not be a practical option. Mr. Riverblood stated a contingency could be put in with the <br />recommendation to cover the cost of post repair and nets as needed. Commissioner Troy asked if <br />there was a chance after the resurfacing was done the players would go elsewhere. Chair Bennett <br />asked how many courts there are in the City and do monies need to be added for resurfacing. <br />There are six additional courts in the City. <br />Motion by Commissioner Fyten, seconded by Commissioner Mobry, to recommend to the City <br />Council, reconditioning of the tennis courts at Rivers' Bend Park by Surface Pro LLC. at a not - <br />to -exceed cost of $30,000 and a contingency amount of $6,800 for posts and netting. The funding <br />source will be from Park Maintenance Fund. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chair Bennett, Commissioners Fyten Mobry, Trappen, and Troy. <br />Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioners Barr and Logan <br />Parks & Assistant Public Works Superintendent Riverblood stated for the monument <br />replacement, staff recommends proceeding with organizing options and costs. At the same time <br />staff is investigating city-wide way finding signage and developing iconic signage methods <br />relative to Ramsey's brand. The monument replacement should be considered within this process <br />and it is anticipated to occur over the next few months. <br />6. COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br />Mr. Riverblood reviewed the following: <br />A letter from the Minnesota Department of Transportation dated 7-8-16 regarding "Regional <br />Solicitation Application for Pedestrian and Bike Crossing at TH 10 and Ramsey's Northstar <br />Station was presented indicating their support. MnDOT would allow the grade -separated bike <br />and pedestrian crossing included in the application for Pedestrian and Bike Crossing at TH 10 <br />and Ramsey's Northstar Station Project.
