SECTION 01 57 00 <br />AIR, LAND AND WATER POLLUTION <br />PART 1— GENERAL <br />Pollution of the natural resources of air, land and water by operations under this contract shall be prevented, controlled, <br />minimized and abated in accordance with the provisions of MN/DOT 1717 as modified below. <br />1.01 EXTREME WEATHER EVENT <br />If localized flooding is caused by an extreme weather event and results in discharge into surface water, by deliberate <br />pumping or diverted flow, the Contractor shall provide for end of trench or pipe filtration or treatment systems. The <br />filtration/treatment system shall be capable of preventing visibly turbid discharge from entering surface water. This <br />work shall be completed in accordance with applicable laws pertaining to discharge into surface waters and as <br />directed by the Engineer.
