SECTION 31 14 13 <br />TOPSOIL STRIPPING AND STOCKPILING <br />PART 1— GENERAL <br />1.01 SECTION INCLUDES <br />A. This work consists of salvaging and stockpiling topsoil and excavating suitable topsoil from stockpiles to place <br />on designated areas. <br />1.02 RELATED SECTIONS <br />A. The following is a list of SPECIFICATIONS which may be related to this section: <br />1. Section 31 22 00 Grading. <br />2. Section 31 25 00 Erosion and Sedimentation Controls. <br />PART 2- PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS <br />A. Topsoil shall consist of natural onsite ground cover. <br />B. Erosion and Sedimentation Control for Stockpiles shall meet the requirements of Section 31 25 00, Erosion and <br />Sedimentation control. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 TOPSOIL <br />A. Topsoil within the limits of the PROJECT shall be salvaged prior to beginning excavating, fill or hauling, <br />operations by excavating topsoil and stockpiling the material for later use. <br />3.02 STOCKPILE <br />A. No soil stockpile shall exceed ten (10) feet in height. <br />B. All topsoil stockpiles shall be protected from sediment transport by surface roughening, watering, and <br />perimeter silt fencing. <br />C. Any topsoil stockpile remaining longer than 7 days shall be seeded with temporary cover or the approved <br />specified final seed mixture. <br />D. Upon completion of PROJECT.
