SECTION 32 92 00 <br />TURF AND GRASSES <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 DESCRIPTION <br />A. This work shall consist of establishing turf on all disturbed areas of Project site in accordance with Mn/DOT <br />Specification 2575 except as modified herein. <br />B. Disturbed areas shall be seeded, mulched and fertilized. <br />C. When specified, erosion control blanket shall be installed. <br />PART 2 - MATERIALS <br />2.01 SEED <br />A. Purity and germination requirements shall conform to Mn/DOT Specification 3876. <br />B. Seed shall be mixture type 25-141. <br />2.02 MULCH MATERIAL <br />A. Seeded areas shall be mulched. <br />B. Mulch materials shall conform to Mn/DOT Specification 3882 Type 1. <br />2.03 FERTILIZER <br />A. Fertilizer shall be applied at rate of 200 pounds per acre of 20-10-10 commercial fertilizer. <br />B. Contractor will be required to submit at his/her expense two soil samples to University of Minnesota to <br />determine, based on sample analysis, whether any change from above mixtures and rate are required. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 SOIL PREPARATION <br />A. Contractor shall prepare soil prior to seeding in accordance with Mn/DOT Specification 2575.3B except as <br />modified by first sentence of Specification 2575.3B2, which shall be revised to read: <br />"Immediately prior to sowing seed or placing sod, Contractor shall loosen soil to a minimum depth of 100 mm <br />(4 inches) on all areas except slopes steeper than 1 vertical to 2 horizontal, using disks, harrows, field diggers or <br />other suitable cultivating equipment." <br />3.02 SOWING SEED <br />A. All seeding operations shall be in accordance with Mn/DOT Specification 2575. <br />B. Seed shall be applied in accordance with Mn/DOT Specification 2575, Table 2575-2 "Seed Mixture Application <br />Rates." <br />C.
