Councihnember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #04-07-XXX <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REQUESTING INSTALLATION OF A FENCE AND LIGHTING FOR <br /> POLICE DEPARTMENT IMPOUND LOT <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, three vehicles in the possession of the police department, waiting for court <br />dispositions, were broken into and damaged while being stored next to the Public Works <br />buiktings; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department is requesting the installation of a fence and lighting <br />on City Property, north of 142"d Avenue and west of Jaspar Street; and <br /> <br />alld <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the property would be used solely as an impound lot for seized vehicles; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the current unsecured location is difficult to monitor by police staff; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed location would allow officers to check the vehicles more <br />frequently, provide increased security for them and free-up parking space in the public works <br />parking lot. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />l) Installation of a fence and lighting on City property for use as a Police Department <br /> impound lot. <br /> <br />2) Costs for the fence and lighting not to exceed $5,100, with funding being obtained from <br /> the Council Contingency Fund or Equipment Replacement Fund. <br /> <br />The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by, Councilmember <br /> and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this the 13th day of July 2004. <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br /> <br />
