Page 2

November 30, 1984

~he Honorable Connie Levi
Minnesota Rouse of Representatives

~he small (i.e. Ma and Pa) business; the basis of
the Minnesota economy. Ail our oongressman overlook
these businesses and yet these types of businesses are
the backbone of the nation. I can assure you, in
running my business, the oorporate taxes and workers'
oompensation taxes are not a problem, but the property
taxes are a M~JOR probl~. If I am treated fairly by
the legislators, eventually I will be able to pray
corporate taxes. I believe that there are many other
individuals in this same position.

As a result of these concerns, I have been active in the Ramsey
Business Association and the Taxpayers' Power Block. As you know,
these organizations are dedicated to the restructuring of the
property tax laws and an improved business climate in Minnesota.
I feel that these organizations are a waste of business' time; we
are trying to do in our spare time what legislators are being
paid to do and should be doing full time.

~he citizens of Ramsey do expect a lot from our lawmakers and we
do expect to be treated equitably. One thing to remember is that
quality of life begins with a job for every able and willing person.
You have the responsibility for ensuring that the businesses are
here and have the ability to keep growing to create new
opportunities for ~ployment. ~his is one of the reasons I work
so hard for the Republican Party.

I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on and proposals for
these issues. I would also like to meet with you to discuss
these same concerns.

thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Arnold Cox

Encl:
