Chairman Greenberg stated that land aoquisition oould be oonsidered for a <br />crucial piece of property in the southeast oorner of Ramsey's industrial <br />area, the Etienne property; this piece of property is for sale and a key <br />piece in the orderly develol~ment of Ramsey's industrial area. <br /> <br />Ms. Norris suggested that money oould be used to make low interest loans to <br />developers that would develop that property acoording to the City's <br />specifications; it oould be like a revolving fund -- as the money is paid <br />back to the City it would be used for further eoonomic development. <br /> <br />Con~nissioner Fults stated that using C~8G funds to further development on <br />Hwy. 47 would have a better chance as that area already has a good start. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Cox and seconded by Commissioner Muller to recon~nend <br />that Community Development Block Grant Funds be considered for use in one <br />of the two following alternatives: <br /> <br />1) Acquisition of Industrial land. <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />To assist with financing that would appear to be feasible for the <br />stimulation of development east of Hwy. 47 on the southern end of <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Commissioners Miller, <br />Muller, Fults, Cox, Wagner, Vevea, ~ardin. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />Commissioners Schneider and Schmidt. <br /> <br />Case %3: Goals Of Ramsey Economic Develo_rment Company: <br /> <br />Gon~ission reviewed goals of Ramsey Eoonomic Development Company prepared <br />by the Executive Subco~ittee. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg noted that purchase of the Etienne property and a <br />railroad overpass were high on the priority list. <br /> <br />Case %4: Statu~ Of Ramsey EconomicDevelo_~ment Company: <br /> <br />Commission noted memo from Ms. Norris and William Goodrich dated November <br />5, 1984 regarding the status of the Ramsey Economic Development Company. <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults stated that the Company's first project should be <br />something very visible that will gain public support. <br /> <br />Co~nissioner Cox stated that a YMCA facilitywouldbeveryvisible and <br />utilized by many people. <br /> <br />Case #5: F~lling Of Jack Schneider's Position Qp ~e EDC; <br /> <br />Motion by Co~m~issioner COx and seconded by Commissioner Muller to accept <br />Mr. Jack Schneider's resignation from the EDC and to authorize City Staff <br />to advertise to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Schneider. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
