Mr. Schnelle stated that the charter can be amended to adopt State Statute <br />429; no election on the issue would be required if the citizens do not <br />object to the amendment. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cox stated that the Commission should encourage Council to <br />initiate adopting Statutory Requirements of {hapter 429 into the Charter. <br /> <br />Chairman Greenberg authorized City Staff to prepare more input and facts <br />regarding this issue for Commission review at their next regular meeting. <br /> <br />~PPROVAL OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Fults and seoonded by Commissioner Cox to approve <br />regular Economic Development Commission meeting minutes dated October 9, <br />1984. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairman Greenberg, Commissioners Hardin, <br />Fults, Miller, Muller, COx, Wagner and Vevea. Voting No: None. Absent: <br />(km~issioners Schmidt and Schneider. <br /> <br />QOM~ISSION BUSINESS CONTINUED <br /> <br />g.~ Subcommittee Re_rg~,~ (continued): <br /> <br />b) Economic - <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults stated that he has talked to developers in the City and <br />they are pushing for the Run River Bridge Crossing; there is a Food 'n' <br />Fuel coming in on the oorner of fh~y. 47 and Industrial Blvd.; south of that <br />location there is a possibility of a strip center, an apartment complex and <br />off ice/warehouse. <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults stated that Eoonomic subcommittee membership needs <br />review; there should be more m~rs on it in order to conduct effective <br />official meetings. <br /> <br />Commissioner Fults stated that Mr. Lyle McLaughlin is responsible for so <br />much of the development in this City and he should be considered for <br />appointment to the Run River Bridge Crossing Committee. <br /> <br />c) Finance - <br /> <br />No report. <br /> <br />Case 92: Use Of (I)BG Funds: <br /> <br />Ms. Norris reviewed with the Commission her report on the County's response <br />to proposed uses of CDBG funds by the (I)BG Funds Uses Subcommittee. <br /> <br />Commissioner Cox stated that he is supportive of a YMG% facility which <br />would benefit low and moderate income families and it would enhance <br />existing development and encourage more develoi:ment along }5~y. 47. <br /> <br />Page 3 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
