I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL <br /> PUBLIC }~kRING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A public hearing was held on Tuesday, April 17, 1984 at the Ramsey Municipal <br />Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota regarding Magnesium <br />Street NW Street Improvement Project #84-11. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Jean Schlueter <br />Councilmember Gary Reimann <br />Councilmember Sue Van Wagner <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />City Building Official Clayton Berg <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember A1 Sorteberg <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the public hearing to order at 8:29 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka gave a slide presentation of the project and costs <br />and stated that a petition has been submitted to the City to upgrade the <br />street to City standards in order that the City can start maintaining the <br />road. <br /> <br />City Engineer Raatikka described two alternatives to upgrading ~agnesium, <br /> <br />Jan Boeris - 14045 Magnesium - If City snowplowing will occur with either <br />alternative, she is in favor of Alternative #2 because Of'the/Cozt factor~ <br /> <br />Mr. Sullivan stated he is present at the meeti~ng on behalf of'the' Gillman~s <br />and inquired as to why the City Engineer prefers Alternative #1~ <br /> <br />City Engineer replied that Alternative ~1 Would bring the'street up to <br />City standards and realign the street in front of the Gillman property.. <br /> <br />Mr. Sullivan stated that the Gillman's are also in favor of'~lternative #1; <br />the Gillman's are located at the low end of the street and th~e ~s a <br />drainage problem, which Alternative #2 would not alleviate.' Alternative <br />#1 would also be better because it puts the burden of who~s property the <br />street is on at a better distribution than it is right now; mostly on'the <br />Gillman's property. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Van Wagner and seconded by CouncilmemberSchlUeter to <br />adjourn the public hearing. <br /> <br />Sp C/April 17, 1984 <br /> Public Hearing <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
