A fee shall be charged in accordance with a schedule annually affixed by resolution for any appeal or proceeding filed with the Board of Adjustment. 1 70.()]gB AI~I~EAi,S Tile Board of Adjustment shall have the power to hear and decide appeals from any order, requirement, d<~cision, grant, or refusal made by the zoning officer in the administration of this chapter. An appeal shall be in writing and filed in duplicate wittl the zoning officer. Within ten (10) days after filing of the appeal, the zoning officer shall transmit to the Board et Adjustment all papers involved in the proceed- ings. Upon receipt of this material, the Board of Adjustment shall set a hearing date and give notice by mail of the time, place and purpose thereot to tl~e appe]lant and to tile zoning officer. The Board of Adjustment may reverse or affirm wholly or in part any ruling, decision, or determination of the zoning otficer and may issue or direct the issuance of a permit. The decision of the Board of Adjust- ment may be appealed to the city counciI if the city council is not the Board of Ad.~ustment, and its decision may be appealed to the District Court. I I '1 '1 :1 I i I l 70.01 8C VARIANCES PURI'OSE The purpose of this section is to provide the City of Ramsey with an opportunity for amelioration of unnecessary hardships resulting from the rigid enforcement of its broad zoning ordinance.
