RESOLUTION %84- RESOLUTION APPROVING ~E RIRING OF ADDITIONAL POLICE OFFICER WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council approved of Suppl~nent %2 by Council Resolution %83-175 dated September 27, 1983 to the 1984 City Budget for the funding to hire an additional police officer in year 1985; and WHEREAS, the Ramsey City Council approved of providing funding for the hiring of the additional officer in the 1985 City Budget; and WHEREAS, the Council Budget ~ittee has requested that the subject officer be hired in 1984 and commence work on January 1, 1985; and WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has submitted a memo dated November 30, 1984 containing a list of candidates who have been screened for said position and his recommendation; and WHEREAS, the City Administrator has reviewed said memo and hereby sub- mits it to Council for review and action. CITY OF RAMSE¥, ANOKA OC~3NTY, S~TE OF MINNES(Y/~, as follows: 1) q3~at the City of Ramsey hire Mr. /~.~,,, ~.~ for the position of police patrol office with the foll~9~/req~remen't~:' ' a) Effective date of employment is hereby established as ~; ~, 198S. I I ,I I I I I b) 2) Probationary period shall be for a period of one (1) year ex- piring Decenber 31, 1985 which is in accordance with Article VII of the police labor contract. c) Salary schedule is hereby established as follows: First year: January 1, 1985 - December 31, 1985 - paid 79% of top patrol officer wage. Second year and thereafter to be paid top patrol officer wage. d) Proficiency pay shall be paid four (4) years from date of hire providing all requirements contained in Article XX of the police labor contract are met. It is directed that the following be accomplished: a) bt az~.py of this resolution be furnished to Mr. ~~ ~eXlplaining conditions of employment i~ ~gar~s to probationary period, salary, work schedule, requirements, etc. b) That all City fringe benefits be fully explained to him. c) ~at all personnel requirements be explained to him by the Chief of Police.
