Council consensus is required to dis- pense with the reading of the proposed resolution. Note: If Council disapproves, direction should be given to the Chief of Police. c) Reviewal of proposed candidates for new additional officer - Enclosure (D2-c) contains a memo from the Chief of Police dated November 30, 1984 regarding a list of persons that qualified for the new Police Position. It also contains the Chief's recommendation. It should be noted that Oouncil has provided the funding for this additional person. As stated before, the Council Budget Committee has requested that this position be filled in December 1984 and that this officer oonm~nce work in January 1985. fDuncilAction: Your action will be to review the contents of the above enclosure and take action on it. If Council approves, the proposed resolution contained in enclosure (D2-c) will need to be adopted.
