Councilmember Schlueter stated that if this is true, she does
not go along with the reclassification either and would rather stay with
the Comprehensive Plan which fully uses these shorelands for what nature
intended them.

Councilmember Van Wagner stated that the reclassifications affect what
type of development is allowed in the area and ~setbacks.

Councilmember Van Wagner stated that Susan Beale has submitted to her a
statement requesting Council to reassess the issue.

Councilmember Van Wagner stated that she is sure the reclassification can
affect how close the landfill can go to shorelands, which means Sunfish
Lake and Peltzer Pond.

Mayor Gamec requested that Councilmember Van Wagner research the affects
of the reclassification on landfill restrictions and report back to Council
at their next regular meeting.

C/January 24, 1984
