Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its'~o'~t~''' RESC~UTION RESOLUTION APPROVING THE HIRING OF REPLACEMENT POLICE OFFICER TO REPLACE D. ~]~OMAS ANDERSON WHO RESIGNED WHEREAS, Mr. D. Thomas Anderson has submitted his letter of resignation from the Ramsey Police Department to be effective January 19, 1986. A copy of this letter is on file in Mr. Anderson's personnel file; and WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has submitted a memo dated January 14, 1986 stating his recommendations for a replacement for Mr. Anderson. Further, the Chief stated verbally on January 9, 1986 the crucial need in filling said position as soon as possible; and WHEREAS, the Acting City Administrator/Clerk has requested that this be placed on the agenda for action at the January 14, 1986 regular Council meeting. NOW ~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF T~E CITY OF RA~EY, ANOKA (X~NTY, S~I~TE OF MINNESOgI%, as follows: 1) The Council hereby approves of hiring Mr. James J. Singewald for the position of police patrol officer with the following requirements: a) Effective date of employment is hereby established as February 1, 1986. b) Probationary period shall be for a period of one (1) year expiring February 1, 1987, which is in accordance with Article VII of the police labor contract. c) Salary schedule is hereby established as follows: First year: February 1, 1986 - February 1, 1987 - paid 79% of top patrol officer wage. Second, third and fourth year to be placed on step program to top patrol officer wage d) Proficiency pay shall be paid four (4) years from date of hire providing all requirements contained in Article XX of the police labor contract are met. 2) It is directed that the following be accomplished:
