Let me indicate that the role that we can play is based on the following
circumstances.

The main brochure (mai]ed four times a year); the individual community school
brochures mailed four times a year), and school newsletters are the primary vehicle
to promote community education and community school related matters.

The city newsletter, although important, is primarily a city newsletter.

The fact that we have limited funding, due to projected cuts in state monies.

It is conceivable that we could participate in several newsletters which necessitates
that we be consistent as well as set a maximum due to the amount of dollars that
could conceivably be spent.

With this as background information, our role would be to:

Contribute the use of the district's bulk mailing permit.

Allocate one-half of the cost of the mailing of each newsletter up to a maximum of
$400.

Submit materials to the city for consideration in the newsletter on behalf of the
school and the community school operation.

The role of the city would be as follows:

To coordinate, develop, and monitor all aspects of the newsletter.

To cover all costs beyond the district's contribution.

To handle the mailing process.

"Every Student Will Learn" 1 of 2
