relating to its hazardous waste storage and disposal methods, the <br />PCA has imposed a significant monetary fine on Waltek, Inc.; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Waltek, Inc. has cooperated with the PCA, <br />Anoka County and Ramsey in establishing a pilot project which <br />takes methane gas from the landfill and transfers it to Waltek, <br />Inc. where it is burned as a fuel souroe; and <br /> <br /> WBEREAS, the Ramsey Council finds that the monetary <br />fine imposed on Waltek is unfair and unjust, particularly since <br />Waltek, Inc. immediately cooperated with the PCA in rectifYin9 <br />its hazardous waste handling methods. <br /> <br />NOW ~]~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY T~E CITY COUNCIL OF ~E CITY OF <br />BAMSEY, AN(~ (~3NTY, S~TE OF MINNESO~, as follows: <br /> <br /> 1) That the Minnesota PCA reconsider its monetary fine <br />of Waltek, Inc. and agree to not require the fine. <br /> <br /> 2) That a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the <br />chairman of the PCA Board, State Senator Greg Dahl, <br />Representative John Hartinger and Anoka County Commissioner <br />Natalie Haas. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Councilmember <br />thereon, the following voted in favor"thereof:d <br /> upon <br /> vote <br /> being <br /> taken <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />and the following abstained: <br /> <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by <br />the Ramsey City Council this the 25th day of February, 1986. <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />AT~IEST: <br /> <br />City Administrator/Clerk <br /> <br />Resolution ~86- <br /> <br /> <br />
