I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />to try obtain a provision for base beginning salaries. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Personnel Committee was that p~rt time wage rates for <br />Streets/Parks, Snowplow Driver and Snowplow Wing Driver will remain at the <br />current rate. <br /> <br />~he Personnel Committee proceeded to discuss wage rates for the Fire/Weed <br />Inspector. <br /> <br />Mr. Graczyk stated that the Fire/Weed Inspector currently earns $5.75/hour plus <br />a $600/year retainer. <br /> <br />Consensus of the Personnel Committee was to remain at the current rate for <br />Fi re/Weed Inspector. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />~e Personnel Cc~mittee proceeded to discuss the wage rate for Newsletter. <br /> <br />Mr. I~artley noted that Ms. Frolik currently hamlles the newsletter on a part- <br />time wage basis and contracts to the City as Council Secretary. Mr. I{artley <br />stated that discussion of Case #3 (Consideration of Full Time Status Of <br />Sylvia Frolik) would also be appropriate at this time. <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br /> I <br />I <br /> <br />Councilmemi~r Reimann stated that he feels Mr. ~artley has not been with the <br />City long enough to make a reocrmer~tion regarding whether or not another full <br />time secretary is necessary. Oouncilmember Reimann suggested that Ms. Frolik <br />remain at her current zmployment status with an increase to $6.00/hour for <br />newsletter duties and no increase to' the rate paid for minutes recording. <br />Councilmember Reimann suggested that Mr. t{artley observe the office workload <br />for at least another month before making a rec~zm,endation for a full time <br />secretary. <br /> <br />Mr. Bartley replied that he has been here a short time and already recognizes <br />his need for a confident/al employee. Mr. ~{artley stated that he has also <br />observed that with the current workload structure, there is no particular <br />secretary at the Administrator's disposal, ge has also observed Ms. Norris <br />doing an enormous amount of general secretarial duties and her talents are <br />being grossly misused. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Brief discussion ensued regarding the status of the newsletter. Mr. l~artley <br />stated that he and Ms. Frolik are meeting with the School District to discuss <br />funding possibilities. Mr. f{artley stated that he will work to see that the <br />charter requirement for a newsletter is accomplished in the most cost effective <br /> <br />Mr. Hartley stated that with respect to whether or not there is anccd for a <br />full time secretary, he will prepare a package of documentation for Personnel <br />Committee review on February 24, 1986. ~he Personnel Co~,ittee recommendation <br />will then be placed on the February 25, 1986 Council agenda. <br /> <br />Discussion returned to G~ief Auspos' request for a cost of living increase. <br /> <br />~he consensus of the Personnel Committee was to offer C~ief Auspos a 3.0% oost <br />of living increase and a $i0 increase to health insurance benefits. <br /> February 6, 1986 <br /> <br /> <br />
