February 19, 1986 <br /> <br />TO: David Hartley, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Anne Norris, City Planner <br /> <br />RE: Monthly Staff Report <br /> <br />Economic Development Commission: Based on a meeting between <br />staff and the City's financial planners and bond counsel, the EDC <br />has reoommended that the City Council approve a request for the <br />City E~gineer to conduct a feasibility study on the extension of <br />public improvements to the City's industrial area. The EDC ks <br />also working on the possibility of using Cable T.V. for economic <br />development activities. ~'ne Economic Development Company has <br />organized several subcommittees to work with prospective <br />businesses and possible sources of funding for economic <br />development and promoting the City of Ramsey for economic <br />development. <br /> <br />Planning and Zoning Commission: The Planning and Zoning <br />Commission completed its review of the recodified zoning <br />ordinance and has forwarded the draft to the City Council for <br />introduction and adoption. At its regular March meeting, the <br />Commission will begin a review of the subdivision ordinance, <br />including the park dedication requirements. <br /> <br />Other: ~he Northfork P.U.D. project is in the process of going <br />through the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) process as <br />required by the Enviror~ental Quality Board. Northfork held its <br />grand opening for the first phase of the development on February <br />15 and 16. Art Raudio has petitioned for the feasibility study <br />to be oonducted for the extension of public improvements to the <br />second I~hase of Flinotwood Bills 2nd Addition. The Anoka County <br />Chamber of Commerce has organized a committee to work on seeking <br />funding for the completion of County Road 116 across the Rum <br />River. Councilmember Cox and I are both serving on this <br />committee. ~]~is oommittee has just started meeting; I will keep <br />you advised of the oommittee's progress. The North Metro Traffic <br />Task Force is continuing its review of possible additional bridge <br />locations over the Mississippi. ~e Task Force is hoping to make <br />several reoommendations regarding short and long term solutions <br />to the bridge probl~ in early summer. <br /> <br /> <br />
