I
I

I
I
I

!
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
!
I
I
I

SCOPE

The purpose of this report is to discuss the feasibility of
extending 153rd Avenue N.W. between Puma Street N.W. and Andrie
Street N.W. in accordance with the standards for municipal state
aid streets (MSAS). The location of the proposed street improve-
ment and area of benefit are shown on Exhibit A.

PROJECT HISTORY

Currently, the area lying west of Puma Street and north of U.S.
Highway 10 and 169 located in Sections 18 and 19 and the
Northwest 1/4 of Section 20, Township 32 North, Range 25 West is
being developed as the Northfork Planned Unit Development
(P.U.D.). The proposed alignment of that extension is shown
on Exhibit A.

Based on estimated traffic projections in the Environmental Im-
pact Statement (E.I.S.) for the Northfork P.U.D., the Minnesota
Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) raised a concern with 153rd
Avenue N.W. connecting to U.S. Highway 10 & 169 northwesterly of
the Daytonport Truck Weigh Station. Mn/DOT is expecting an
increase in the use of the weigh station and has recommended that

1
