Water drainage and build up of held water. 2. Height increase conflicting with existing airport airspace. 3. NL~nerous engineering probl~ns yet to be addressed. Motion carried. Voting Yes: ~hairman Greenberg, Commissioners Ippel, Hardin, Wagner, Vevea, Kurak and DeLuca. Voting No: None. Absent: Cc~missioners Muller and Fults. Motion by Gommissioner Hardin and seconded by Cxm~nissioner DeLuca to recoa~nend that City Council investigate the possibility of forming another Landfill (~ittee to be made of one m~mber each fr~m City Council and all City Commissions and t~o me~bers of the private sector; this Landfill Committee should have specific goals established by Council regarding issues dealing with the landfill. Further Discussion: Commissioner Kurak suggested that it be recommended that the Landfill ~ittee be given a budget and Staff lm~nber at it's disposal. Chairman Greenberg and Cxm1~issioner Ippel stated that Staff has always been available and cooperative with the EDC and Airport Co~ssions. Con~issioner DeLuca stated that the I~ndfill Committee should be in effect as long as the landfill is open and operating. C(m~issioner Ippel stated that the Landfill Committee should be in effect permanently to address issues after site closing. Chairman Greenberg noted that the motion states that the Committee should be formed to address landfill issues in general and not just one issue which would imply a time limit. Motion carried. Voting Yes: (]3airman Greenberg, C~ssioners Ippel, DeLuca, Wagner, Hardin, Kurak and Vevea. Voting No: None. Absent: (k~mmissioners Muller and Fults. I i I I I I fY~T~TCININJ~TNF, qR ~issioner DeLuca stated that he has been in contact with Representative Hartinger ooncerning: 1) Unemployment oompensation insurance; 2) CxmI~ercial insurance; and 3) Commercial real estate taxes. Representative Hartinger is forwarding file regarding what the House of Representatives is proposing on these issues. Co~issioner DeLuca noted that the Governor and Senate are proposing to deal with this year's State budget shortfall in part by reducing local government aids; the House of Representative's p~oposal is to not cut back on local goverr~aent aids.
