The City would then have to seriously consider hiring a part time community
service officer; a person to cover building inspections would be required when
Hr. Wirz is on vacation or ill; the City would relinquish local control over
assessing; data pertaining to properties would be more difficult to obtain and
the City would be charged for County computer runs; the City would be going
through the process of hiring a Class II inspector in about 1+ years to
coincide with Hr. Wirz' retirement.

The consensus of the Personnel Committee was to table consideration of Hr. ~irz
assuming the position of Building Inspector until after applicant interviews
for the position have been conducted.

COMMITTEE INPUT

Councilmember lleimann stated that he wants an explanation regarding two City
employees workin$ at the April 26 Pet Clinic and that he still hasn't received
a report regarding Police Department matters, Councilmember Reimann reiterated
that he did not like the manner in which the water pumping case on the April 22
Council agenda was handled.

Hr. Nartley referred to the water pumping case and stated that he tried to
prepare an appropriate case based on past Council action and information he had
available.

Councilmember Reimann stated that the City Attorney should research the limits
of City responsibility related to issuing building permits; is the City saying
that there will never be problems on a parcel when the building permit is
issued?

ADJOUKNMENT

Consensus was to adjourn the Personnel Heeting at 8:55 a.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Sylvia Frolik
Secretary

David Rartley
City Administrator

April 28, 1986
