Based on Ra~sey's population of 10,860 (April 1984 <br />Metropolitan Council estiFate), RaL~sey's annual residential <br />refuse generation is 7,927,800 pounds (10,860 residents x 2 <br />pounds/resident/day x 365 days/year) or approxiFately 3,964 tons. <br /> <br />Approximately 5% (based on Metropolitan Council estiFates) <br />of the total refuse, or 396,390 pouncls (198 tons), is recyclahle glass <br />containers. Assu~.ing 7% participation in a drop-off recycling <br />prograr, the City would collect 27,747 pounds (14 tons) of glass <br />~ater ials annually. <br /> <br /> <br />
