(D~IAL) By: Dave liartley, City Administrator Background: The Quad Cities Cable Communications Commission has been representing the City of Itamsey and other cities in the matter of the cable television franchise with Group W Cable, Inc. As you may know, Group W Cable, Inc. has requested that the Cities consent to the transfer of ownership and control and unlimited transfer of the Cable Communications franchise ordinance to North Central Cable Communications, L.P. The Quad Cities Cable Communications Commission has reviewed this request and is recommending that its member cities deny the requested transfer. Included in the reference material are the following for your information: a) Letter from Mr. Thomas D. Creighton, legal counsel b) Proposed resolution Observations: Councilman Reimann has been an active member in the Quad Cities Cable Communications Commission and may be able to offer much greater insight into the matter. Recommendation: It is the recommendation of the Quad Cities Cable Communications Commission that the City Council of Ramsey adopt a resolution denying the request to transfer ownership and control of Group W Cable of the quad Cities, Inc. and transfer of the Cable Communications franchise ordinance to North Central Cable Communications, L.P. Council Action: Motion to: Adopt Resolution ~86- denying the request to transfer ownership and control of Group W Cable of the Quad Cities, Inc. and transfer of the Cable Communications franchise ordinance to North Central Cable Communica- tions, L.P.
