Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman and Councilmember Sorteberg.
Voting No: Councilmember Cox. Absent: Councilmembers Reimann and Schlueter.

Councilmember Cox stated that he had plans to go out of town, which he
postponed; that he does not feel that this case merits the calling of a
special Council meeting; and he is not supportive of taking any action on the
case at this time. Councilmember Cox also noted that it is difficult for him
to attend a Council meeting prior to 6:00 p.m. because of his private business
committment; that should be taken into consideration just as much as the
Mayor's request not to schedule Council meetings prior to 5:30 p.m. to better
accomodate his private employment schedule. With respect to Mr. Wirz' is·us,
Council was, at one time, agreeable to the 15I salary increase but the labor
union caused problems. More time should be spent addressing community concerns
rather than substantiating employee salaries.

Councilmember Cox reiterated that he does not support this special Council
meeting and dismissed himself from Council chambers at 5:33 p.m.

Councilmember Schlueter arrived at 5:33 p.m.
