overtime hours worked and hm~ much comp time accumulated. Mr. Graczyk noted
that his estimate of hours worked only goes to DecaYer 20; the balance of 198~
fell in the middle of a payroll and has not yet been reviewed. Nr. Coodrich
inquired if Council is considering this compensation for Nr. girz in 1986 also,
Nayor Heitman stated that the estimated hack pay for 198~ so far is
approximately $1,000; what did the City buy for that $1,0007 Nr. Coodrich
stated that the City got a person to do inspections and assessing; he doesn't
know if all the work in both departments was accomplished but the person did
have a greater responsibility. Kayor Heitman stated that he didn't expect all
the work in both departments to be completely done but he expected that the
recoup time would be minimal when the new building inspector does come on
board. Payor Beitman stated that he does not agree with a salary compensation
for added responsibility if it turns out that there was only a shifting of
duties and one department falls way behind.

Motion carried. Voting Yes: Hayor Reitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg and
Schlueter. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Reimann and Cox.

Payor Heitman stated that this action involves implications that have to be
considered before continuing this policy in 1986. Payor Beitman directed that
this issue be on the next Council meeting agenda with the following information
available:

1. How many actual hours were worked.
2. How much comp time was earned during the time frame.
3. How ~any overtime hours worked.
Total hours worked.

Mr. Goodrich suggested that Nr. Wirz be present at the next Council meeting to
present to Council a status report of the Assessing and Building Departments.

Hotion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Counc£1member Schlueter to
adjourn the special Council meeting.

Hotion carried.
