Voting Yes: Mayor ~eitman, Council=embers Reimann, Scblueter <br />and Sorteberg. Voti~ No: Councilme~ber Cox. <br /> <br />~ ~quest For Conditional Use Per, it To Overate A Tuxedo Rental <br /> Operation Prom Home; Case Of Gary And Cheri Rice: <br /> <br />Mrs. Rice stated that she vould like to provide a tuxedo rental service from <br />her ho~e to enhance her bridal consulting service. Customers would co~e to her <br />ho~e to choose suit styles fro~ catalogs and be ~easured; suits are delivered <br />and picked up UPS. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox noted that entire vedding parties could be co~in~ to the Rice <br />home to choose suit styles and be measured; UPS vould be makin~ routine <br />deliveries at the address. <br /> <br />Mrs. Rice replied that most veddin~ party ~eabers choose to be fitted for suits <br />in pairs rather than the entire veddini party all at one time. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that the City is spending tax dollars to pursue the <br />Star City Program to encourage development in commercial/industrial areas. <br /> <br />Mrs. Rice noted that out-of-the area businesses are getting all the formal suit <br />rental business; if the business prospers, she vould consider opening a shop in <br />the commercial area. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Cox and seconded by Councilme~ber Reimann to adopt <br />Findings of Fact 0142 relating to a request by Gary and Cheri Rice for a <br />conditional use permit to operate a tuxedo rental business from their home. <br />(Please refer to findings of fact file for Findings of Fact 0142). <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Heitman, Councilmembers Sorteberg, Cox, <br />Reimann and Schlueter. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Notion by Councilme~nber Cox and seconded by Councilmember Reimann to deny the <br />request by Gary and Cheri Rice for a conditional use permit to operate a tuxed~ <br />rental business in their home at 15210 Maco Street N~. <br /> <br />Further Discussion: Mrs. Rice stated that she cannot afford to locate in a <br />commercial area at this time. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
