Motion to approve the minutes as amended bx' CommSssJoner <br />Looyen, seconded by (ommissioner Johnson, and carried. <br /> <br />Commission members reviewed the City Countil meeting minutes. Chairman Lichter <br />noted the council accepted the recommendation on ~tanhope Hills, and he would <br />like the City to check bn the street easement. He also noted that the Park and <br />Recreation Commission had asked for guidance from the City Attorney, but there <br />has been no feedback yet. <br /> <br />CASE #1: Discussion regardin~ vacancy on Park Commission. <br /> <br />Discussion tabled. Neither applicant available'for interview. <br /> <br />Case #2: Discussion With Ramsev Lions r~g proposal for park shelter. <br /> <br />The Ramsey Lions Club is looking for a project for the City of Ramsev and has <br />discussed a shelter. Mr. Jack Kirchner informed the Commission he had looked <br />at shelters, Ward Park in particular. The shelter would be 10' by 16', with <br />an enclosed room at one end plus a door that could be opened for a concession <br />stand. They have received three bids, the lowest is $6,198.50~ There might <br />be additional expenses because t~e building inspector suggested a few changes. <br />Central Park already has a designated spot for a shelter, but they need the <br />Park Board's approval. <br /> <br />Chairman Lichter said he wants to be sure that washrooms can be added later. <br />Location of the proposed shelter was discussed. Near the parking lot, there <br />1~. a small electrical building and a well. Merle Mevissen said the shelter <br />ceuld be placed against the well. Mr. Kirchner indicated there is also an option <br />next spring to put in cement formed picnic tables and an outside grill. <br />£or~.issioner Looven asked if there was any room for storage - the one area could <br />bt. used for anything. <br /> <br /> <br />
